Testimonials

See what these writers have to say about how my classes have helped them follow their dreams:

What I appreciated most about Meagan is that she helped me identify my goals and then offered guidance on how to reach them. And she knows what she’s talking about. Meagan offers nuts and bolts writing and blogging information, along with thoughtful career-planning suggestions, to help each writer meet her own objectives. Without this class, I’d still be thinking about pitching Parents magazine, instead of actually working on an assignment for them. Thank you, Meagan!

-Kirsetin Morello, The Hip Mom’s Guide

Meagan’s writing classes motivated me to launch the writing career I’d dreamed of for years. As a teacher, Meagan shared practical tips, no-nonsense business savvy, and inspirational advice to help me get in gear and get published. Meagan also helped nurture an online community of writer-mothers who have continued to motivate and inspire me since the formal course ended. Thanks to Meagan’s feedback and support, I have placed pieces with Ms., Babble, Literary Mama, BlogHer, and Aiming Low and started work on my first book. Moreover, I have a sense of where I want my writing career to go and how to make it grow while my kids do. I highly recommend Meagan’s classes to anyone serious about becoming a professional writer.

  • Why work with Meagan?

There are a lot of writing classes out there. So why choose mine?

    Experience.
I've been writing professionally since 2003 and it's been my full-time job for over six years. I've been published in dozens of national magazines like Parenting, Parents, Brain, Child, and Good Housekeeping, as well as a variety of online publications like Salon.com, Babble.com and the New York Times parenting blog. I'm also the author of four books, most recently The Happiest Mom: 10 Secrets To Enjoying Motherhood, published in partnership with Parenting magazine.

My five kids have grown up alongside my writing career, so I really understand the unique challenges of balancing writing with parenting and how to launch a freelance business while caring for a family.

    Innovation.
The publishing industry has changed a lot in a short time. As a pro blogger and social media enthusiast who still embraces traditional publishing, I know that writers have to keep evolving to thrive...but I firmly believe that good writing still trumps all. My classes will help you strike that balance for yourself so you can stay current and relevant without burning out.

    Inspiration.
As a writer, mentor, speaker and mother I've created a lifestyle and a career out of helping people. I work hard to understand my students' unique needs, motives and goals to help them shape a writing life that works. Visit my testimonials page to get a better idea of how I've helped other writers succeed.
