about Meagan Francis

I’m Meagan Francis, a mother of five and a blogger and writer on being a happier, more productive mom. I’ve been freelancing for over seven years, publishing dozens of articles and essays in national magazines like Parenting, Good Housekeeping, and Yoga Journal, and well-known websites like Babble.com, Salon.com and the New York Times parenting blog. I’m the author of four books, including The Happiest Mom: 10 Secrets To Enjoying Motherhood and One Year To An Organized Life With Baby (co-authored with NYT Bestselling author Regina Leeds). I also represent brands in social media campaigns and am featured regularly in the press. Through writing and blogging, speaking, and media appearances, I’m passionate about helping women–especially moms–lead happy, creative, and fulfilled lives. My blog The Happiest Mom reaches thousands of readers each month, and I’m grateful to have found a way to combine my love of writing, my quest for self-improvement and my passion for helping others.

  • Why work with Meagan?

There are a lot of writing classes out there. So why choose mine?

    Experience.
I've been writing professionally since 2003 and it's been my full-time job for over six years. I've been published in dozens of national magazines like Parenting, Parents, Brain, Child, and Good Housekeeping, as well as a variety of online publications like Salon.com, Babble.com and the New York Times parenting blog. I'm also the author of four books, most recently The Happiest Mom: 10 Secrets To Enjoying Motherhood, published in partnership with Parenting magazine.

My five kids have grown up alongside my writing career, so I really understand the unique challenges of balancing writing with parenting and how to launch a freelance business while caring for a family.

    Innovation.
The publishing industry has changed a lot in a short time. As a pro blogger and social media enthusiast who still embraces traditional publishing, I know that writers have to keep evolving to thrive...but I firmly believe that good writing still trumps all. My classes will help you strike that balance for yourself so you can stay current and relevant without burning out.

    Inspiration.
As a writer, mentor, speaker and mother I've created a lifestyle and a career out of helping people. I work hard to understand my students' unique needs, motives and goals to help them shape a writing life that works. Visit my testimonials page to get a better idea of how I've helped other writers succeed.
